3 ID Card Photo Don’ts You Don’t Want to Miss

Posted

Here at Evergreen I.D.Systems our goal is to provide our customers with the latest, high-quality, and most efficient ways of identifying and keeping track of people. We are able to do so by constantly keeping ourselves informed on the latest identification-related security threats and always keeping ourselves up-to-date with the newest identification systems.

However, we have also learned some lessons from some pretty unexpected sources. And so, here we have compiled 3 ID card photo “don’ts”, you don’t want to miss:

#1: Don’t have more than one person in an ID card photo at a time

The above ID card photo may be this couple’s favorite picture of themselves, but it is not an appropriate photo for an ID card. An individual’s ID card photo should have ONE individual in it.

#2: Don’t let the subject take a picture in which they look unrecognizable

A person’s ID card should at the very least look somewhat like how they do on a day-to-day basis. Even if Jacob in accounting dresses like the Joker EVERY “casual Friday”, that doesn’t mean your security staff should have to decipher a photo like this every other day of the week.

#3: Don’t let your subject make a funny face, on purpose

No hospital or college wants to be known as a RUINER OF FUN!!! But remember, many of your staff will be using these ID cards as their sole way of identifying and keeping track of people on your premises.

All of these photos are hilarious in instances where security is not paramount, however, not taking the most basic part of your security and identification systems seriously, can and most likely will lead to bigger security issues down the line.
