The 10 Best Business Cards

Posted

Business cards have become standard for most workplaces. For this reason, it’s even more important to strive for unique card designs and presentations. Next time you’re preparing to order a new batch of business cards, take some inspiration from this list of innovative, eye-catching design ideas.

1. Cut-out design

For this card, the designer took on the challenge of trying to combine the card’s information and medium. Here, the email address takes up the entire card, with the background cut out.

2. Wood block imprints

This card, designed for a beef-specialty Japanese restaurant and laser-etched into a small wood block, symbolizes several things that the restaurant stands for: simplicity, economy, modesty and the beauty of imperfection.

3. Transparent background

With the use of a transparent background, seen in this card designed for a pastry company, the simple design placed in the center stands out in a very unique way.

4. Silly shapes

Who says your business card has to be in the same shape as other cards? In this example, a videogame designer printed his contact information on a plastic alien-shaped cutout from the classis arcade game “Space Invaders.”

5. Stone tablets

This unique business card was designed by a French creative agency. Printed on tiny concrete slabs, the card is described as a “game between the scale and the material.”

6. Occupational jokes

In one clever example, an acupuncturist designed a business card with the name and phone number spelled out in tiny pinholes that appeared to have been punched out by needles.

7. Envelope included

Why not make your business card feel like a special gift? A results coach designed a card that comes inside of a small envelope. Parts of the card can be seen through slits cut out of the envelope, but the card must be pulled out to reveal all of the contact information.

8. Unexpected materials

This fabric and haberdashery shop created business cards with the company name actually sewn into the card. Talk about creative!

9. Interactive designs

How often do you see a business card that’s interactive? This one, created for a barber, simulates the cutting action of a pair of scissors when the card is moved back and forth behind a striped screen.

10. Pop-up cards

This creative business card was designed by a photographer. When opened, it shows the photographer standing in front of a photo shoot in which a general rides a polar bear. Whether or not this scenario makes sense, it’s a truly memorable design!
