If you have ever been to a conference, odds are you either had to wear an ID badge or some sort of conference badge that let conference organizers know you were attending said conference.
Until recently conference ID badges usually consisted of nothing more than an adhesive backed name tag or a basic black and white card in a simple ID card holder. Well not anymore! Here’s a look at a couple original and unique approaches to conference ID badges you’ve probably never seen before:
This conference ID badge designed by Jeff Gough is truly unique. Designed for an I.T. security conference in 2011, this ID badge was capable of tracking conference goers participation in conference events and activities. The ID badges could also track the personal improvement of each of the badge wearers in the activities they did.
This ID badge is a part of the CCC-Sputnik project, looking at the implications of realtime in-building location tracking, and was a hit with attendees at the 23rd Chaos Communication Congress conference. These ID badges transmitted signals to 25 RFID stations within the conference that tracked the signals and transferred that data to a centralized system online.
What do you think? Do you have a unique or original idea for an ID badge? What capabilities would you like to see a conference ID badge be capable of?
